OUR COMMITMENT

Être Canine is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We believe that the same consideration we bring to canine wellness should extend to every person who visits our site. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

CONFORMANCE STATUS

This website has been designed and developed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

MEASURES TAKEN

The following accessibility measures have been implemented across the site:

Measure	Description
Semantic HTML	Proper use of landmarks, headings, lists, and form elements to convey structure to assistive technologies.
Color Contrast	All text and interactive elements meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text, as required by WCAG 2.1 AA.
Keyboard Navigation	All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. The mobile menu includes a focus trap with Escape key dismissal.
Image Descriptions	All content images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies.
Skip Navigation	A skip-to-content link is provided at the top of every page to allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation.
Form Accessibility	Form inputs include proper labels, error identification, and screen reader announcements for validation states.
Reduced Motion	Animations and transitions are disabled when the user has indicated a preference for reduced motion in their operating system settings.
Focus Indicators	Visible focus indicators are provided on all interactive elements for keyboard users.
